1. AUWC's Mentoring Program
The Board of Directors has developed a format to implement a program to mentor new members of the association. We will need the participation of as many members, professional and associate to make our new members understand we appreciate them joining and to inform them of the many benefits of membership. The format premise is based upon volunteers. We need members to volunteer to step up and follow through to make this program one that we can be proud of.
Here's how it works:
*We will put together a pool of names of those of you offering to mentor your time and efforts for this cause.
*Then our President Troy Nelson will be tasked with slotting the names into the following format:
*There will be 3 Mentors assigned for every 3 months starting with the Jan-March cycle, April-June cycle, July-Sept cycle and the Oct-Dec cycle.
*1 associate member, 1 professional member and 1 board of director.
*Names will be selected randomly from the pool of volunteers and assigned to a 3 month period.
Tasks:
All Volunteers: Answer any questions the new members may have over the next 3 months, to the best of your ability and offer encouragement whenever possible.
Associate Member: One associate member will contact the new member via e-mail, telephone, private message or letter and welcome them to the association and thank them for joining. Answer their questions as best you can and offer encouragement whenever possible.
Professional Member: One professional member will contact the new member via e-mail, telephone, private message or letter and welcome them and tell the new member how the association has helped their business to be more profitable and professional. Urging the new member to participate on the forum and to ask questions is also encouraged at this time.
Board of Director: One member of the BOD will be assigned to contact the new member via e-mail, telephone, private message or letter to welcome them and explain to them what they will be receiving from joining the AUWC. The BOD member will answer questions for the new member and inform them of the all things AUWC including the forum, handbook, regionals, service magic offering and the many AUWC member that help each other to grow and learn.
We as a board see this as a great opportunity to show our valued members that we appreciate them joining and to show the offerings we have currently and to explain what we plan to have down the road. The time and effort it will take to accomplish this is minimal. Those volunteering will only be expected to contact the new member and do their part with a few minutes of time. We do however encourage all participating to take this opportunity to establish an ongoing relationship with the new member with the ultimate goal being positive relationships evolving from the interaction of members

2. AUWC Job Shadowing Program
This program allows window cleaners to be matched up with veterans of the industry for some hands-on learning opportunities. Members are able to “shadow” the veteran company for a day or two observing how they run day to day operations, employee relations, customer relations, giving estimates, efficient way to complete jobs, advertising, accounting, etc…
