What is the name and location of your business?
Best Choice Professional Cleaning LLC In beautiful sunny (except for the 3 hurricanes) Vero Beach, Florida

How long have you been associated with the window cleaning business?
Five years

Do you have employees?
Yes, Three

What specific services do you offer with your business?
We specialize in high-end residential communities offering exceptional service built on integrity and trust (about 80%). We also do low-rise commercial buildings (about 20%). We chose not to do any route commercial work at this time. We offer window cleaning, chandelier cleaning, high dusting, other cleaning services and light maintenance work.

What prompted you to join the AUWC?
Brian Welker, he mentored me while starting up. I then attended my first WI picnic and met all the other fine people associated with the AUWC. I knew at that point this association would be a good fit for us. So many professional trade associations can be large impersonal cliques that offer little to the new or smaller professional. I have in the past received and given others in our association help and guidance, never has anyone been less than helpful or unprofessional. I truly like the interaction we have within the AUWC, it's sort of like family and friends.

How do you feel your business has benefited from your association with the AUWC?
I learned about water fed poles and 50/50 mix for starters, which has increased our productivity and profit exponentially. We give and receive ideas and help from interaction on the bulletin board almost everyday. If we have a problem I know I can pick up the phone and call any of the members for help. It also lends to our creditability displaying the AUWC on all of our written and other correspondences.

Where do you plan for your business to be in the next 2-5 years?
I'm at a cross roads, I still love cleaning windows and working closely with my clients. Remaining a smaller company we offer personal one on one service, which is welcomed and appreciated by our beautiful clients. I also feel the need to grow, however, not at the cost of reducing our personal service. I believe we can expand with careful planning and selecting top-notch employees.

What specific interests/skills do you feel you have to offer as a member of the Board?
Enthusiasm and a willingness to give back to others, this is what attracted me to this organization in the first place.

What areas would you LIKE to see the AUWC expand into or get further involved?
First, I would like to see our census grow with an increased base of dues-paying members so we are strong while remaining responsive to the needs of the members. Secondly, continue to promote safety and better service through new technology and equipment. Lastly, continue to help lift up the smaller window cleaning companies by supporting their needs and acting as a bridge to bring professionals together in common forums.

What do you feel the individual members could do to make the AUWC better than it already is?
Get involved! I have been on many different professional organizations and I believe you proportionally get out of an organization what you put into the organization. If every member was involved in the discussions and shared their past experiences, trials and tribulations it could lessen the learning curve for others. Time; give just a little time back to the association by being involved and recruiting other professional window cleaners to the AUWC.
