Writing this message I find myself not really knowing where to begin. We have so many exciting things taking place in our association and its all due to our members. Our members are the reason we exist. On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I want to salute our membership for taking this vital step towards enhancing your business and the lives of those affected by it.

The AUWC Newsletter, a free publication, will go out to all industry related window cleaning entities that volunteer to sign up from our website to receive it. All AUWC members will receive the newsletter before non members and with member related information. This month’s issue, June 2006 is marking the first official issue of the AUWC newsletter. This newsletter will grow as we grow. Special thanks go out to everyone that contributes their time and knowledge to make this newsletter a success. We are excited and looking forward to many more future articles from our members and guest writers. If there’s a subject you would like for us to cover in future issue’s please let us know, email us at: newsletter@auwc.org

I know that I said this before through our member’s forum and other groups, but it’s worth mentioning again because it was such a great accomplishment for our members and the industry. On May 23 2006, we received notice from the Internal Revenue Service that our application for tax exemption was approved. The approval came in the applied category as a 501 (c)(6) Non-Profit Trade Association. The whole process from State filing to Federal approval took only 4 short months. Thank You goes out to all members who contributed to this process.

Congratulations are in order to Robert Hinderliter and the members of the UAMCC – United Association of Mobile Contract Cleaners for the first convention that was held in Fort Worth, Texas on May 4 - 6, 2006. Pictures are displayed now on our Events page in our website, more pictures are coming soon. The event was very informational during the seminars and with the hands on demonstrations that were given. It was my pleasure to meet and network with so many professionals. This type of organization and convention is a great opportunity to where a person/company could learn and network from so many Trades and Industries in one location/under one roof.

Congratulations go to Mr. Bernard and his wife Mrs. Bridget Hurt of Clear View Windows from Haltom City, Texas who won the drawing for the $300 valued window cleaning kit and becoming part of the AUWC family.
